wild on... lace
When E2K told me about the Amazing Lace, I decided to try to love lace again. After my Mystery Lace Knitalong failure last year, I thought I might not have the concentration to keep a constant stitch count. These pictures show a lovely in-progress lace shawl, but I never mentioned that I ended up ripping out the whole thing. I made a mistake, then dropped a bunch of stitches, then gave up.
I always loved the look of the Flower Basket Shawl, from the Fall 2004 issue of Interweave Knits. I know lots of people have successfully made gorgeous shawls from this pattern, and that boosted my confidence. The yarn I'm using is Fable Handknit Alpaca in the Sweet Pink color from Pureknits. This yarn is soft and luxurious. I'm going to just keep knitting pattern repeats until I am almost out of yarn, then do the border, then bind off. Tonight I finished the first ball, and I have those other 3 to go. I am very unhappy with the indoor picture above, but my alpaca and I don't get out much now that it's 112 degrees outside.
Good News: I'm coming to visit NY from mid-July to mid-August. Plus, the new Magknits is out, and I like everything.
