Oh Boy NY
Well I am off to NY in a few days and all I can think about is going to yarn stores there. I am going to do some research today to find out the best ones.I FINALLY took a picture of my new improved green felted bag:
It's pretty small. Kind of the size of a handbag. I love it though. My NORO Booga Bag needs to go through the wash again I think. I just don't want it to shrink too much...
Right now I have a pillowcase on the needles:
It really doesn't look like much yet. I am making this pillow that I found on craftster.

It's BLOCKING!
First of all, Photobucket got a makeover and it is so pretty now. I was quite surprised when i logged in this morning! I kind of thought i was at the wrong website and i typed it in wrong or something. Anyhoo...My booga bag is outside blocking and drying. I am looking at it right now from my window. Oh the magnificence.
I guess it's hard to tell the colors, but it's purple, grey, pink, green, black, and tan. And i love it. Behind it, you can see the i-cord also drying. I can't wait til it's done. OK, I'm gloating.
Similarly, my R2 Yarn and Book came yesterday! I ordered it from NobleKnits and it was on SALE! 25% off, oh MY!
I already knitted a swatch. I couldn't help myself. It is VERY comfortable to work with on Bamboo needles. It recommended size 15 needles, but oddly enough, the swatch worked out to 4 inches on size 11 needles.
I'll be in New York from August 1-19 so don't be cranky if I don't post much. If you want to invite me to your knitting group in NY, let me know! I would love to come!

I love knitting. Knit Knit Knit
First of all, I made an awesome little chocolate cake that I found out about from Super Eggplant in her July 23 post. I love that blog. i read it every single day. Thank you Mariko! It was so delicious and i made it in the MICROWAVE!
Next, I went to Knitting in Scottsdale and I had SEX (Stash Enrichment eXpedition). That means i bought yarn. I just like saying that. I bought some yarn to make the i-cord for my booga bag:
Some yarn to make a sushi roll TP cover,
And some yarn needles.
Now I am going to start the TP roll cover. It's for my friend Farrah who is moving to New York. I sure hope she doesn't read this because that was supposed to be a surprise.
I am casting on right now!

What kind of knitting needles am I?

You are "turbo" charged.
Fast moving and classy, you get things done with
power and grace. Your expensive tastes can be
deceiving, since what you really value is
quality and efficiency. As you're careening
around those corners in life, finishing a dozen
knitted objects each month, stop and smell the
roses. Don't miss the beauty of process!

Noble Knits WINS!
Poncho finally!
Well... I finally finished taking pictures of my poncho and my half-finished hat so that I could post it here.
I got the pattern for the poncho from knitty and i got the pattern for the hat from Nicole's weblog. These were the MOST fun things i have ever knit. Now I am working on the scarf to attach to the bottom of the hat.
Koolaid Dying
Tonight I had so much fun dying some cashmerino with koolaid! I got all the directions from Stitch n Bitch by Debbie Stoller. I am psyched.
I had so much fun at my stitchin n bitchin tonight. Everyone makes such beautiful things.

This is a really cool thing I got at walmart. I think it might have been less that a buck. It's for making flowers out of yarn. I have only experimented with it so far, and i only made one flower, but it's really cool for making those scarves or blankets that are entirely made of flowers. I want to try it as my next project. Seems like a good way to use up extras...

Stitch n Bitch Nation!
Stitch n Bitch Nation by Debbie Stoller is on Amazon.com now! I am so psyched about it. I love the first one and the second one is supposed to have more advanced stuff. oooooh I can't wait til it comes outTuesday, July 13, 2004
OOOH LALA
Well I OFFICIALLY lost my camera charger. I have so much stuff to take pictures of. I made 3 Tawashis, a tampon holder, I fixed my green and yellow felted bag (see below somewhere), AND i started an AWESOME pixie helmet!I ama kind of pissed off about ebay right now. It's definitely NOT ebay's fault, but I bid on some knitting needles to make the aforementioned Booga Bag, and now the yarn came 4 days ago, but the auction hasn't even ended yet! It is ending soon, but i dont WANT to win the auction. If I win the auction, I will pay much less for the size 13 circulars, but I will have to wait for them to arrive! I already waited 4 days! UGH! I wish someone else would bid on them. They are bamboo and they are brand new. I hope I lose. There are 18 hours left...

Japanese Knitting!!!
I found some cool people who translated japanese knitting patterns! You are so awesome for doing that!TAWASHI! Thanks Gwen!
Awesome little duster Thanks Jennifer!
Tawashi Patterns in Japanese Thanks Pierrot!
Great Website with free patterns
Underpants? (Not translated)
OOOOhhhhh some new things to make!
I came across R2 yesterday and it looks great. I want to get the magazine and the yarn and make the hooded tank top. It seems like a lot of people are making it with sleeves but I will definitely do it without the sleeves.I decided to fix my green and yellow felted bag by taking off all the pockets and straps and reblocking it, and then adding i-cord for straps like a booga bag. It is drying right now. I'll try to take pictures if i get my camera out of the moving boxes.
I wore my poncho for the first time this morning even though it is summer here in Arizona. I just really wanted to wear it... I think I might add some other color to it and make it even. I'll put some pictures when i catch up.
That's all for now. Later
Wednesday, July 07, 2004
NORO ON SALE BABY!
Well I haven't posted for a while so I guess I'll catch up.NORO KUREYON & BOOGA
I just got off the phone with Threadbear to order some AWESOME and ON SALE Noro Big Kureyon! I am so excited I could do a dance. The guys on the phone were so helpful and sweet! They helped me with my pattern and they gave me some REALLY good advice. Not only that, but the yarn was 11.96 per skein. This is fantastic.
I am going to make a booga bag. Right now all I need to get is needles. By the way in case anyone reads this and cares, I am using Big Kureyon number 8. Those guys are so awesome in that store. I hope I can visit them in Michigan when they move!
Needles
Well first of all, I placed a bid on ebay for some knitting needles so that I could have a full set of straight needles. HOWEVER, I will need some more needles for some projects I want to make. Here is an awesome list of them:
Felted Bag
Bamboo Circulars in size US 13 anything around 24"
Bamboo double pointed needles size 13
Cape Mod
Size 15 16" circulars
Size 17 24" circulars
Size 17 29" circulars
Socks
Size 2 double pointed (not plastic, I broke the last ones)
So if you are buying me a present, buy me that. I hate buying expensive needles for myself (wink)
Well pictures of projects are coming soon. I have made a shawl and a poncho and i also made another duct tape purse and a yarmulka so I'll post those pics later
Illanna
